Fed’s Kohn-criticism against rate hikes looming

NEWARK, Del., April 20 (Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Reserveis bracing for political pressure not to raise interest rateswhen policy-makers at the central bank deem it necessary, FedVice Chairman Donald Kohn said on Monday.
“I am sure that when we get ready to raise interest ratesthere will be a lot of criticism. There always has been,” hesaid in response to questions after a speech at the Universityof Delaware. (Reporting by Mark Felsenthal, Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
